Sunday, June 2, 2013
Rain Date: Sunday June 9, 2013
Presented by MORE (Mid-Atlantic Off-Road Enthusiasts, Inc)
What: The NoVa EpicSM is a supported mountain bike ride through Fairfax County.
Three courses will be offered to accommodate varying abilities: 20 miles, 40
miles, and 65 miles – the full metric century. Support for each course includes a
detailed map and cue sheet, purpose marked trails, aid stations, and a post-ride
party with a BBQ and live music.
Where: The 40 and 65 mile courses are point-to-point; they begin at Laurel Hill and end
at Lake Fairfax. The 65 mile course includes an 8 mile loop in Laurel Hill, a 5
mile loop in Accotink, an 8 mile loop in Wakefield, and a 7 mile loop in Lake
Fairfax, all linked by the County Connector Trail (CCT). The 40 mile course is
primarily on the CCT. The 20 mile loop course starts and finishes at Lake Fairfax.
Why: The NoVa EpicSM aims to increase awareness and raise funds for Fairfax
County trails by bringing together trail enthusiasts for a great ride and
celebration. It is also the weekend of National Trails Day!
Who: The NoVaEpicSM is brought to you by MORE. The Fairfax County Parks Authority (FCPA) is our primary partner. All proceeds will benefit MORE and its volunteer efforts to build and maintain rails in our region.
